If you need our concrete deposited somewhere our mixer trucks can't reach - and you don't fancy moving it there by hand - you can request a concrete pump along with your order.

Our ground inline concrete pump trucks will generally arrive before our mixer truck, so they can set up and be ready to pump safely. The mixer truck on arrival deposits concrete from its auger arm into the pump. The concrete can then be pumped through flexible pipes up to a distance of circa 120 metres. (Each of our inline pumps carry up to 60m of pipe, so if you need to pump beyond 60m please let us know.) The pipes can go round and through buildings, up or down stairs and ramps and around other obstacles and in some cases we can also pump vertically.

Our pumps are crewed by experienced and helpful operatives who will arrange the pipes according to your instructions, then flow our ready-mix concrete to the exact locations you require.

This means we can place small or large amounts of concrete, mess-free, in hard-to-reach or awkward places, or where the environment may easily be damaged by our trucks or by continuous wheelbarrowing.

Traditional wheelbarrowing is slow and labour intensive – it takes 250 full wheelbarrows to empty one of our mixer trucks. Our pumps can empty a truck in 30 minutes if required!

Please ensure there is enough space at your site to allow our trucks to access the area and park.

Any hard standings we travel across and park upon will need to be strong enough to support their weight without causing damage.

The concrete pump connects to the concrete mixer truck, and together they need parking space equivalent to about 5 cars in a row.

I had a private project to lay a large garden office concrete base with a long run of approx 50 meters. The service from booking to delivery pumping on site is excellent. Highly recommended.

FAQs

Do you deliver on Saturdays?

Yes. We operate Monday to Saturday, all year round — no weekend surcharge, no different timeslots, no extra fees. Saturday bookings work exactly the same as any weekday. We do not operate on Sundays.

How precise is the delivery timeslot?

We work to a 2-hour arrival window. On site we allow 45 minutes to deposit a standard load, and our team stays until the job is done — we will never leave you with concrete/screed still in the mixer. Pump trucks arrive before the mixer so everything is ready to pour on arrival.

What areas do you cover?

We serve London (North, North West, East and wider), Hertfordshire, Essex, Bedfordshire and the wider East of England. Towns include Waltham Abbey, Waltham Cross, Epping, Loughton, Broxbourne, Hoddesdon, Ware, Harpenden, Royston and many more. Call us with your postcode if unsure — we'll confirm instantly.

Do I need a concrete pump?

You need a pump when the pour location is more than about 4–5 metres from where the truck can park, or if access is blocked by a gate, wall, slope or building. Typical pump jobs: rear garden foundations, basement slabs, extensions set back from the road. Without a pump, a full 10m³ truck requires 250 wheelbarrow loads. Our pump empties the same load in 30 minutes.

How far can you pump concrete?

Up to 120 metres from the mixer truck. Each pump carries 60m of flexible pipe as standard. If you need to go beyond 60m, tell us when booking and we'll bring an extra 60m. The hose bends around corners, through doorways, up or down ramps and stairs, and can be used vertically.

Can you pump concrete over a wall or through a gate into a back garden?

Yes — one of our most common pump jobs. The flexible hose routes through side gates (pipe is approx. 100mm diameter), around corners, over low walls and through buildings to reach any rear or set-back area. Our pump operatives handle all the pipework and operate the pump — you just direct the pipe end to the pour point.

How much space do the pump and mixer trucks need?

Together they need roughly the equivalent of five cars in a row. The pump truck is 3.8m high, 3.2m wide and 8.5m long, weighing 30 metric tonnes. Both vehicles need ground strong enough to take their combined weight.

Who sets up and operates the pump?

Our team does everything. Experienced pump operatives arrive before the mixer, lay out the pipework to your instructions and operate the pump throughout the pour. The mixer and pump trucks are co-ordinated by us to arrive in the correct order.

Can floor screed be pumped?

No. Our traditional sand-and-cement screed cannot be pumped. We deposit it from the chute onto plastic sheeting (provided by you) at an accessible external location, from where your team wheelbarrows it to its final position. Screed deliveries are always the first slot of the day at 8am.

How long has Ronimix been trading and who do you supply?

Ronimix was founded by Luke Scarbrow in 2008 — over 16 years of experience. We supply everyone from homeowners pouring a first shed base to self-builders, trade contractors, housing developers and large commercial projects. Every job gets the same level of care, and our driver-operators are trained to help customers who aren't sure what they need.
